Alexis Smith has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Alexis is currently serving as the Chief People Officer at Farmers & Merchants State Bank in Archbold, OH since June 2022. Prior to their current role, they held the position of Vice President, Talent and Organization Development at the same bank from March 2020 to June 2022.

Before joining Farmers & Merchants State Bank, Alexis worked at ProMedica where they served as the Director, Organization Excellence from September 2016 to March 2020. In this role, they were responsible for leading talent management, succession planning, key talent/high-potential development, and performance management strategies to achieve business goals.

Alexis also gained substantial experience during their tenure at The Andersons, Inc. Alexis worked as the Sr. Manager, Organization Development from January 2014 to September 2016. In this capacity, they focused on developing and implementing people and organization development strategies aligned with corporate and business unit strategies. Prior to this role, they held the position of Manager, Organizational Change Management from August 2011 to January 2014, where they were accountable for facilitating change management practices.

In addition to their work at The Andersons, Inc., Alexis also served as the Training and Compliance Manager from July 2008 to August 2011, Training Specialist from January 2007 to June 2008, and Employment Coordinator from December 2003 to January 2007.

Alexis has further work experience as the Human Resources Director at Rawhide Internet Services from April 2001 to December 2003 and as the HR and Personnel Development Director at Bentley Networks from May 1998 to November 2000.

Throughout their career, Alexis has demonstrated expertise in talent management, organizational development, change management, and training.

Alexis Smith's education history begins in 1989 when they enrolled at The University of Toledo. They pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classics and completed their studies in 1993. Following this, they continued their education at the same institution and obtained a Master of Arts degree in Classics from 1993 to 1995.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Alexis also obtained various certifications throughout their career. In December 2011, they became a Certified Change Practitioner from Prosci. Later, in October 2015, they received the SHRM-SCP certification from SHRM, as well as a Certificate in Organization Design from USC, Center for Effective Organizations. In June 2018, they achieved the Certified Practitioner status from The Predictive Index. Finally, in November 2019, they completed the Talent Optimization program offered by Talent Optimization by The Predictive Index.
