Brett Scott

Brett Scott is an author and journalist with extensive experience in finance and education. An independent consultant since 2010, Brett Scott explores innovative, non-hierarchical working structures and is recognized for the book "The Heretic's Guide to Global Finance: Hacking the Future of Money," published by Pluto Press. As a Senior Fellow at The Finance Innovation Lab since 2012, Brett Scott focuses on alternative finance. Additionally, from 2013 to 2017, Brett Scott served as an Assistant Lecturer at the University of the Arts London, teaching design students about societal power structures. Previous roles include a position in business development and derivatives brokerage at Hoare Capital Markets LLP and an analyst role at the Institute of Social & Economic Research. Brett Scott holds an MPhil in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge and a BA (Honours) in History & Anthropology from Rhodes University.
