The Formation Lab
Nicki Pozos, PhD, PE, PMP, is a distinguished professional in civil engineering and public infrastructure, currently serving as Principal at The Formation Lab since November 2019, where a focus is on integrating social equity into planning and design processes. Nicki is also an Outside Director on the board of GSI Water Solutions, Inc. and a Cofounder and Board Member of Leading Water Forward, an organization aimed at empowering women in leadership roles within the water sector. Previous experience includes senior management at Barney & Worth, Inc., leading client development for HDR's Oregon Water Group, and managing significant water supply projects at Carollo Engineers. Nicki holds a PhD and MS in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Davis, and a BASc in Bio-Resource Engineering from The University of British Columbia.

The Formation Lab integrates social equity into the planning, design and management of public infrastructure. We are dedicated to a more equitable future – delivering support programs for disadvantaged businesses, working with organizations to become more inclusive, and integrating equity considerations into infrastructure planning. At The Formation Lab we donate 10% of labor hours to community organizations, provide office space and advocacy for minority-owned businesses, and commit to carbon neutral business operations. The Formation Lab is WBE, DBE, and ESB certified in the State of Oregon.
