Areda E. is an experienced pipeline developer and bioinformatician at The Francis Crick Institute since June 2017, specializing in the analysis of next-generation sequencing data and the development of bioinformatics pipelines utilizing Nextflow. Areda has supervised teams in the COVID-19 blood sample processing for the Legacy study and contributed to the broader COVID-19 testing response. Collaborative work with PhD students and postdocs focused on developmental and cancer studies involved hands-on tasks with animal models. Previously, Areda worked as a software developer at Queen Mary University of London, creating a responsive website for transcription factors and drug targeting. Additional experience includes recruitment activities and a clinical work placement at the Royal London Hospital. Areda holds an MSc in Bioinformatics and a BSc in Biomedicine from Queen Mary University of London and Birkbeck, University of London, respectively.
