William Borden has a diverse work experience in the field of medicine and healthcare. William currently holds the position of Interim Chair of Medicine at The George Washington University, where they also serve as a Professor of Medicine and of Health Policy and Management since 2020. Prior to that, they worked at The GW Medical Faculty Associates as the Chief Quality and Population Health Officer, practicing cardiology and leading various healthcare initiatives from 2017-2020. William also served as the Director of Healthcare Delivery Transformation and Associate Professor at George Washington University from 2014-2017. Before that, they worked as a Medical Officer at the US Department of Health and Human Services from 2012-2014, where they provided leadership in patient-centered outcomes research implementation. William also worked as an Assistant Professor at Weill Cornell Medical College from 2008-2014, practicing cardiology and conducting health policy research. William began their career as a Cardiology Fellow at the University of Chicago Hospitals from 2001-2008, where they led quality improvement programs and later served as Chief Medical Resident and Internal Medicine Resident.
William Borden began their education in 1993 at the University of Pennsylvania, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Following this, they attended The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine from 1997 to 2001, pursuing a degree in Medicine. William then furthered their education at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business from 2002 to 2005, obtaining a Master of Business Administration degree with a focus on Strategy.
