Suman Sureshbabu

Suman Sureshbabu is an experienced leader in the energy and development sectors, currently serving as Managing Director of Demand, Jobs and Livelihoods at The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) since October 2022. Prior work at The Rockefeller Foundation spanned over fourteen years, where Suman played a pivotal role in founding initiatives aimed at addressing climate change and improving energy access in emerging economies. Suman has held various leadership positions, including Managing Director and Director, where responsibilities included overseeing innovative projects to accelerate energy access and economic development in Africa and Asia. Suman’s expertise is supported by a strong academic background, holding a Master in Public Affairs from Princeton University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The Johns Hopkins University. Suman has also contributed to academia as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and has consulted for several organizations, including Oxfam America and the Environmental Defense Fund.
