Helen Whiteside

Helen Whiteside serves as the Director of the Guide Dog Service at The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association since July 2019, where responsibilities include overseeing the operational delivery and leading multidisciplinary teams across four nations. Previously, Helen held various positions within the organization, such as Assistant Director of Operations and Chief Scientific Officer, demonstrating a strong commitment to research and innovation in canine science. Additional experience includes a role as Member of the Board of Trustees at Woodgreen Pets Charity and Research Manager at Dogs Trust. Helen's research background is complemented by a PhD in Ecology from the University of Bristol and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Oxford.
