Marie Davies

Marie Davies has a diverse work experience in the healthcare sector. Marie started their career as the Head of Quality and Patient Safety/Designated Nurse for Safeguarding and Looked After Children at North Somerset Primary Care Trust in 2008, where they worked until 2013. Marie then joined NHS England, initially as a Quality and Safety Manager from 2013 to 2015, and later as an Associate Director of Nursing and Quality from 2015 to 2016.

Following their tenure at NHS England, Marie served as the Associate Director of Nursing and Quality at Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group from 2016 to 2020. Marie then worked as the Interim Corporate Senior Nurse at North Bristol NHS Trust from June 2020 to September 2020.

In 2019, Marie joined Weston Area Health NHS Trust as the Associate Director of Nursing, Emergency, and Medicine. In this role, they led various departments and services, including the Emergency Department, medical wards, children's unit, community children's services, and CAMHS. Marie'stenure at Weston Area Health NHS Trust lasted from April 2019 to October 2019.

Marie's most recent work experience includes being the Deputy Director of Nursing at Powys Teaching Health Board since September 2020 and a Member of the Board of Trustees at Kinergy since October 2020. At Kinergy, Marie actively contributes to providing support for survivors of sexual abuse and violence through trauma-informed counseling, group therapy, and support groups.

In addition to their professional roles, Marie has also been involved with The Health Foundation's Q Community since February 2017. This initiative brings together individuals with improvement expertise to collaborate and enhance skills in the healthcare field.

Marie Davies has an extensive education history spanning several years. Marie obtained a Bachelor's degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse from the South Warwickshire School of Nursing in 1986. In 1999, they pursued further education and received a degree in Maternal/Child Health and Neonatal Nurse/Nursing from Swansea University. Marie continued their studies at Bath Spa University and completed a Master of Science (MSc) in Healthcare Management in 2000. Marie also holds a Post Grad Certificate in Clinical Systems Improvement, which they obtained from the University of Warwick in 2010. More recently, in 2014, they completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Education with a focus on Professional Identity and Communities of Practice from the University of the West of England. Currently, Marie is in the process of pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration with a specialization in Value Based Health Care at Swansea University, which they are expected to complete in 2025.
