Janet Lopez

As a proud South Central native, Alumni Engagement Coordinator Janet Lopez believes in the power of education. Being the first in her family to graduate from college she was able to develop a passion for service and advocating for college access to at-promise youth. While studying Sociology and Black Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara, Janet realized the overlap of her own lived experiences and her educational studies that led her to see the great impact of mentorship through her involvement in various youth development organizations. She is passionate about mentoring youth to reach their full potential and giving them holistic care in order to accomplish their goals. Janet is humbled and honored to become part of The Hidden Genius Project to continue reminding folks that the Geniuses matter today, tomorrow, and always.
