Marshall Taylor

Chief People Officer at The Humane Society of the United States

As the chief people officer for the Humane Society family of organizations, Marshall Taylor leads the Human Resources department that serves the Humane Society of the United States, Humane Society International and Humane Society Legislative Fund.

Taylor is an accomplished human resources executive and lifelong advocate and animal lover with significant experience working for non-profit advocacy groups. Before joining their family of organizations, he served as the head of human resources for WAMU, American University’s public radio station. His other previous experience includes serving as vice president of global human resources and legal affairs at The Atlantic Council and as both deputy chief human resources officer and interim chief human resources officer at Georgetown University. Taylor also has held significant legal leadership roles, including general counsel of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and senior associate general counsel at Howard University.

He received his law degree from the University of California-Los Angeles School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Bucknell University.
