Alyssa was part of the Project Management team that facilitated the integration of technology into all 59 library branches throughout the borough of Brooklyn. Alyssa worked at the library from January 1991 to January 2000.

Alyssa D. obtained an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from the University of Phoenix from 2010 to 2012. Alyssa then pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Healthcare Administration from the same university, completing it from 2014 to 2016.
