Sterling Higashi currently serves as a Team Leader for 子 Zi · Ro Labs within the XPrize organization, focusing on the development of environmentally friendly catalysts and innovative processes for converting waste tires into fuel. In addition to this role, Sterling contributes as an Environmental Review Researcher for the International Energy Agency, emphasizing the importance of carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) initiatives. At ClimatePartner, Sterling participates in ensuring compliance with verified carbon standards for carbon offset projects. As a technical consultant and board member at ReGen8 Energy Inc., Sterling specializes in hydrocarbon waste-to-energy solutions and emissions reduction. With extensive experience in mechanical handling equipment servicing across various companies, including Epiroc, Doosan, Multiquip, Atlas Copco, Kubota, and DEUTZ, Sterling’s background is further reinforced by education from the Navy STEM Program and a degree in Machinist Studies from the University of Hawaii at Hilo.
