Cherine Foty

Cherine Foty is a Senior Associate in International Arbitration, Business & Human Rights, and ESG Disputes at Covington & Burling LLP, where employment commenced in September 2021. Foty serves as a Delegate to the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR for the terms 2022-2024 and 2024-2027. Additionally, Foty is an Adjunct Professor of International Arbitration at The George Washington University Law School and a member of the 2025 Annual Meeting Committee for the American Society of International Law. Active in various organizations, Foty holds positions such as Secretary of the CPR Rules Revision Committee and Global Co-Chair of the Campaign for Greener Arbitrations. Notably, Foty is a co-founder and Board Member of ArabArb and has previous experience as a Diversity and Inclusion Advisor at Arbitrator Intelligence. Educational qualifications include a Juris Doctor in International Law from The George Washington University Law School, an LL.M. in French and European Law from the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne, and a B.A. in Political Science, Spanish, and Anthropology from the University of Michigan.
