Shannon Mortland

Shannon Mortland has a diverse work experience in the field of communications and public relations. Shannon is currently serving as the Director of Communications at Oswald Companies since 2022. In addition, they are also a Member of the Team NEO Marketing Advisory Council since 2023 and a Board Member of the PRESS CLUB OF CLEVELAND since 2021.

Their previous roles include serving as an Adjunct Professor at Baldwin Wallace University from 2013 to 2022. Shannon also worked as a Vice President, Regional Media Relations at PNC from 2017 to 2022, where they were responsible for creating effective media relations plans and drafting various communication materials.

Earlier in their career, Shannon worked as a Regional Director of Public Relations at JACK Entertainment from 2016 to 2017 and at Caesars Entertainment Corporation from 2013 to 2016, where they managed all aspects of public relations for various properties.

Before that, they served as a Senior Media & Communications Specialist at MetroHealth Medical Center from 2010 to 2013, where they developed integrated media relations plans and landed major national stories.

Shannon also has experience in journalism, having worked as a Reporter at Crain's Cleveland Business from 2000 to 2010 and at Plastics News International from 1999 to 2000. Shannon received multiple awards for their investigative and breaking news coverage during their time as a reporter.

Shannon Mortland obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from The Ohio State University between 1990 and 1995. Shannon later pursued a Master of Arts degree in Communication and Leadership at Gonzaga University from 2010 to 2012. Additionally, Shannon earned certification as a Certified Women's Business Advocate from PNC in the year 2021.
