Mareena Robinson Snowden, Ph.D., currently serves as a Senior Advisor to the Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security at the U.S. Department of State, contributing expertise in arms control, verification, and compliance since May 2022. With extensive experience in national security analysis at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, Snowden combines technical knowledge with operational analysis to address complex security challenges. Previous roles include Stanton Nuclear Security Fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and Graduate Fellow at the National Nuclear Security Administration, focusing on modernization programs. Snowden holds a Ph.D. in Nuclear Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has participated in various research internships at prestigious institutions, including Los Alamos National Laboratory and Idaho National Laboratory.
