Jean E. Courtney

Jean Courtney serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Joint Commission since April 2023, after a long tenure at Joint Commission Resources from 1999. In these roles, Jean has been instrumental in strategic planning implementation, operations, and business development for both Joint Commission Resources and Joint Commission International. Previous leadership positions include Interim President and Chief Executive Officer, Vice President of Operations and Business Development, and Deputy Executive Officer. Jean's experience extends to senior roles at Ernst & Young and Henry Ford Health System, with a foundational career in finance starting at Pannell Kerr Forster. Educational credentials include a Master of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Michigan State University, along with a Level 2 Certification as a Wine Steward/Sommelier from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust.
