Lisa Vandecaveye

General Counsel

Lisa Vandecaveye is the General Counsel for The Joint Commission. In this role, Ms. Vandecaveye oversees all legal issues for The Joint Commissionand Joint Commission Resources.

Previously, Ms. Vandecaveye served as Senior Vice President and Chief Corporate Responsibility Officer for Beaumont Health where she was a member of the Executive Cabinet. In this role, she was responsible for compliance, privacy, security, internal audits, and accreditation for the healthcare system comprised of eight hospitals, 153 ambulatory sites, 5,000 physicians, and 33,000 employees.

Ms. Vandecaveye is an active member of the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA) serving in multiple leadership roles, including being a member of the Association’s Board of Directors from 2006 to 2012. She is also an AHLA Fellow.

Ms. Vandecaveye received her bachelor’s degree, law degree, and Master of Business Administration from the University of Toledo. She also holds a Certificate of Professional Development from the University of Pennsylvania, The Wharton School, and is a frequent speaker and author on topics related to health care.
