Maudie Johnson-Hunter

Maudie Johnson-Hunter is an experienced economist currently working at the Joseph Rowntree Foundation since March 2023. Prior roles include serving as a Senior Policy Analyst and Policy Analyst at the Ministry of Social Development from October 2020 to February 2023, as well as a Researcher Analyst at the Waitangi Tribunal for a fixed term in 2020. Earlier experience includes roles as a Research Assistant at Victoria University of Wellington, providing research support at the Institute of Governance and Policy Studies, and multiple positions at the Department of Corrections NZ, encompassing work as a Policy Analyst, Research Assistant, and Research Intern. Additionally, Maudie has held academic tutoring positions in Public Policy courses at Victoria University of Wellington. Educational credentials include a Master of Philosophy in Politics and Economics with a focus on Public Policy Analysis, and a Bachelor of Commerce in Public Policy Analysis and Marketing, both obtained from Victoria University of Wellington.
