Isabella Japal is a contributing writer at The Knockturnal since October 2022 and has prior experience as a Global Banking and Markets COO Analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch from July 2020 to December 2021, where responsibilities included acting as a business controls officer for corporate and investment banking divisions. Isabella also gained writing and mentorship experience at the Knight Writing Institute at Cornell and served as a research assistant at the Scheinman Institute on Conflict Resolution. An accomplished summer analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in 2019, Isabella received a full-time offer at the end of the internship. Additional experience includes participation in the SEO Success program, house staff roles at the Jacob Burns Film Center, mentorship at the Speaking Arguing Writing Center, and serving as treasurer for the Students of Color Committee, where Isabella managed budgets and organized events to support students of color. Isabella holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University and is pursuing a Master of Science at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, scheduled to complete in May 2025.
