W. Kim Heron serves as the Senior Communications Officer at The Kresge Foundation since January 2013, focusing on communications efforts to highlight the foundation's work, particularly in support of Kresge's Detroit Program and arts initiatives. Prior to this role, W. Kim Heron was the Editor at Metro Times from May 2006 to December 2012, overseeing operations for the alternative weekly publication while also managing budgets and contributing as a writer and photographer. Experience includes hosting the Kim Heron Program on WDET-FM, co-hosting arts segments on Backstage Pass-WTVS, managing editing duties at the Detroit Sunday Journal, and holding various editorial positions at the Detroit Free Press and Lansing State Journal. W. Kim Heron earned a Master of Library Science from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Michigan State University.
