Patrice Chalin

Web Dev Technical Writer at The Linux Foundation

Patrice Chalin has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. In 1996, they started their career as a Software Developer at Nortel Networks and worked there until 2002. From 2002 to the present, they have been primarily self-employed, working as a Software Engineer, Technical Instructor, and Mentor. During this time, they also worked as a consultant for The Linux Foundation & Google, and as a contractor for Google. Additionally, they held positions as an Associate Professor at Concordia University from 2002 to 2011 and at Kansas State University from 2011 to 2014. Their most recent role was as a Web Dev & Technical Writer for The Linux Foundation & Google since 2019.

Patrice Chalin obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with great distinction and received the CS Medal from Concordia University in 1988. In 1989, Patrice pursued a Master's degree in Computer Science at the same institution. After completing the Master's degree, Patrice continued their education at Concordia University and obtained a PhD in Computer Science in 1995. In addition to their academic achievements, Patrice also obtained an Engineering Permit from the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec in July 2007.
