Anisa Ismail has a diverse work experience in the scientific field. Anisa started their career as a Research Technician at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas in 2002. After completing their graduate studies, they continued their work at the Medical Center as a Graduate Student and later as a Post-doctoral Fellow. During this time, they conducted independent research projects focused on the relationship between intestinal lymphocytes and gut bacteria, resulting in several peer-reviewed publications.
In 2010, Anisa joined Princeton University as a Post-doctoral Fellow, where they developed and implemented a research project studying inter-kingdom signaling between mammals and their resident microbes. Anisa'sresponsibilities included writing grant proposals, delivering presentations, and training students in research techniques.
In 2016, they transitioned to the role of a Medical Writer at ClinicalThinking, gaining experience in medical writing before joining Lockwood in 2018. At Lockwood, they have progressed from an Associate Scientific Director to a Senior Associate Scientific Director and subsequently to a Scientific Director. Anisa'sexpertise has further advanced as they took on the roles of a Senior Scientific Director, Team Lead, and currently a Senior Scientific Director.
Anisa Ismail has demonstrated a strong background in immunology, bacterial genetics, and molecular biology throughout their career. Anisa has shown proficiency in distilling technical information to non-technical staff and delivering presentations to interdisciplinary audiences. Anisa'swork has also involved writing grant proposals and acquiring approvals for research projects.
Anisa Ismail obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Spanish from Southwestern University, where they attended from 1998 to 2001. Anisa further pursued their education at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where they earned their PhD in Immunology between 2003 and 2009.
