Shelly Faber has a diverse work experience in the field of health and wellness. Shelly currently works at The McCahill Group as the Director of Coaching Services, leading the growth and development of the coaching program. In this role, they focus on building trusting relationships with clients and employees to foster personal growth and change the culture of wellness.
Prior to their current position, Shelly owned their own business called Mae Wellness, where they served as a Health and Wellness Coach, 1:1 Personal Trainer, Group Fitness instructor, and Public Speaker. Shelly values creating personal relationships with their clients and emphasizes the importance of motivation and accountability in achieving their wellness goals.
Shelly also has past experience working at Priority Health, where they served as a Health Coach from 2014 to 2021 and as a Wellness Coordinator from 2013 to 2014. Shelly played a key role in providing guidance and support to individuals on their health journeys.
Additionally, Shelly worked at The McCahill Group as a Health Fitness Specialist, assisting with the marketing and design of wellness programs for employees. Shelly also served as a Community Education Fitness Instructor at Spectrum Health Zeeland Community Hospital and worked as a Personal Trainer and Wellness Assistant at Calvin University.
Throughout their various roles, Shelly has demonstrated a passion for helping others achieve their wellness goals and has gained experience in coaching, personal training, group fitness, program design, and community education.
Shelly Faber received their Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Calvin University, where they studied from 2007 to 2011. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications in various health and wellness fields. In September 2011, they became a Certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM EP-C) through the American College of Sports Medicine. In June 2012, they obtained the Certified Health and Wellness Coach certification from Wellcoaches. Continuing their professional development, Shelly achieved the Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach designation from the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching in October 2017. Shelly also obtained the Orthopedic Exercise Specialty Certification from the American Council on Exercise (ACE Fitness) in July 2017. Lastly, they acquired the Lifestyle As Medicine Certification from the American College of Lifestyle Medicine in July 2018.
