Lajeanne Shelton

Lajeanne Shelton currently serves as a Senior Fellow at The Melton Foundation since March 2020. Previously, Lajeanne held the position of Summer Law Clerk at the Alameda County Public Defender from June to August 2024, where responsibilities included writing and arguing motions and conducting legal research. Lajeanne gained further legal experience as a Judicial Extern at the Supreme Court of California in Summer 2023 and as a Legal Intern at The Law Office of Hamilton Lewis from February 2021 to May 2022, supporting attorneys with research and drafting motions. Prior to pursuing a legal career, Lajeanne worked as a Sales Associate at Foot Locker from July 2019 to March 2021, achieving the highest sales percentage during that time. Lajeanne Shelton is currently pursuing a Juris Doctor degree at the University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco, expected to graduate in May 2025, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Dillard University (2018-2022).
