Duncan Haberly

CEO / Co-Founder at The Meta

Duncan Haberly's work experience includes being the CEO and Co-Founder of The Meta, where they lead the team behind the esports training platform, KovaaK's. Duncan was also a Member of the Board of Directors at the San Francisco Community Music Center, actively contributing to the non-profit music school. Duncan was a Music Theory & Composition Student at San Francisco State University from 2011 to 2016. Additionally, they served as an Engaged Advisor at Instructables, advising on startup operations and business development before its acquisition by Autodesk. Duncan was the CEO and Co-Founder of Objective Loyalty LLC, a provider of online direct-marketing solutions, and the VP of Business Development, Sales & Legal Affairs at Tagged.com. Duncan has also authored a book on salary negotiation and perks. Duncan directed the negotiation team at Contracts Inc., a consulting firm offering contract-renegotiation services to venture capitalists. Duncan held the position of Vice President of Business Development, Sales & Legal at Military.com and worked as a self-employed internet business consultant.

Duncan Haberly has a diverse education history. Duncan completed their Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree at the University of Virginia School of Law in 1996. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with a double major in Russian Language & Literature and German Language & Literature at the University of Virginia, which they completed in 1993.

In addition to their university education, Haberly also engaged in language training. In 1987, they attended the Defense Department Foreign Language Training Center Europe, where they pursued advanced studies in Russian. Before that, in 1986, they completed a course in Russian Signal Intelligence at the Goodfellow Military Intelligence Training Center, where they focused on language interpretation and translation. Furthermore, in 1985-1986, Haberly underwent basic Russian language training at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey.
