Pete Buryk

Pete Buryk is an accomplished public administrator currently serving as the Chief Administrative Officer at The Miller Group since November 2024. Previously, Buryk held several significant roles in the City of Norfolk, VA, including Director of the Department of Budget and Strategic Planning, where responsibilities included managing a $2.0 billion annual financial plan and a five-year Capital Improvement Plan. Buryk also contributed as Chief of Staff, focusing on interdepartmental services, and as Director of CivicLab Norfolk, aiming to enhance data-informed decision-making. An experienced naval officer, Buryk served in both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Navy Reserve, contributing to military operations and educational policy development in various capacities, including roles at the RAND Corporation and as faculty at Pardee RAND Graduate School. Buryk holds a Master of Public Policy from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Science in History from the United States Naval Academy.
