The Mountaineers is a community of outdoor enthusiasts passionate about exploration, discovery, learning, and conservation. Founded in 1906 by 151 visionaries, our members named peaks and explored waterways and built trails to uncover unique and challenging landscapes. We helped create the North Cascades Wilderness area, and passed the National Wilderness Act. With an average of 6 activities a day to help you climb, ski, hike, paddle, sail, snowshoe, scramble, and more, we invite you to join us to lose yourself in the outdoors.

The Program and Education Team at The Mountaineers designs, implements, and oversees outdoor education and activity programs, such as climbing, hiking, skiing, and more. This team coordinates and manages camps, develops curriculum, and trains volunteers to provide high-quality instruction and safe, enriching experiences for all participants. They also ensure that educational efforts align with The Mountaineers' mission of fostering outdoor exploration, learning, and conservation.
