Erin O'Mara has extensive experience in strategic consulting, media management, and marketing roles. Erin currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of The Nation Fund for Independent Journalism, where they have transformed the organization into a separate non-profit entity dedicated to training future generations of journalists. Prior to this, Erin was the Executive Director at The Nation, where they developed programming and expanded the company's impact and mission.
Before their time at The Nation, Erin worked as a Strategic Consultant, President, and Vice President of Consumer Marketing at various organizations such as Shain + Oringer, TV Guide Magazine, and Forbes Magazine. In these roles, they developed and implemented strategies to drive growth, managed teams through transitions, and achieved revenue and expense targets.
Additionally, Erin held positions at Playboy and Forbes Magazine, where they focused on subscription promotion and retention. Throughout their career, Erin has demonstrated a proven track record of success in developing products, engaging communities, and generating revenue.
Erin O'Mara earned a BA degree in English with an Honors Degree in Liberal Studies from Adelphi University. In addition to their degree, Erin has obtained certifications including the Diversity & Inclusion Certificate Program from Cornell University ILR School in July 2022, and the AMA Certificate in Business Communication from the American Management Association in January 2008.
