Gary J. Weyhmuller, MBA, SPHR, is the Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer (EVP/COO) at the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN). Mr. Weyhmuller joined NCCN as EVP/COO in February 2014. Working closely with the CEO, he is responsible for providing leadership and management to NCCN Staff, helping to assure the development of new programs, as well as the continued efficient and effective operations of existing programs for NCCN Member Institutions and other constituencies.
Mr. Weyhmuller comes to NCCN with more than 35 years of experience at Fox Chase Cancer Center, most recently serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, responsible for leadership and oversight of the daily operations supporting all research, clinical, and operational activities for more than 2,400 employees. Prior to this role as SVP/COO, Mr. Weyhmuller held several other leadership roles within Fox Chase, including Vice President of Human Resources and Chief Administrative Officer.
Mr. Weyhmuller holds a Master of Business Administration from LaSalle University and a Bachelor of Science in education, political science, and minority studies from West Chester University. He also holds a certification as Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from Villanova University.
Outside of his professional career, Mr. Weyhmuller demonstrates an active history of community service. Currently, he is Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors for American Heritage Federal Credit Union and a member of the Board of Directors for United Cerebral Palsy of Philadelphia and Vicinity, where he served as President of the Board from 2008 through 2011.
Mr. Weyhmuller is active in a number of professional organizations including the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), the American Hospital Association (AHA), the Association of American Cancer Institutes (AACI), and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). He has been recognized for his leadership, both professionally and through his community service, including the Fox Chase Cancer Center Inspired Leadership Award, recognition for leadership and personal dedication on behalf of people with disabilities from United Cerebral Palsy of Philadelphia and Vicinity, and the Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce Crystal Vision Award.
