Jack (John) Pritchard

Northern Colorado Project Coordinator at National Forest Foundation

Jack Pritchard has a diverse range of work experience, primarily focused on environmental conservation and horticulture. Jack (John) has recently been working as a Northern Colorado Project Coordinator at the National Forest Foundation since December 2022. Prior to that, they served as an Open Space and Trails Specialist for the City and County of Broomfield from January 2021 to December 2022. Jack also participated in the Trail Apprentice Program with the Partnership for the National Trails System from October 2020 to March 2021. Jack (John) gained valuable experience as a Head Caretaker at Nichols Arboretum for the Matthaei Botanical Garden from May 2018 to August 2020. During their tenure at the arboretum, they held various roles such as Julie Norris Post Heathdale Intern and Woody Plants & Trails Intern. Jack also worked briefly as a Natural Areas Preservation - Conservation Worker II for the City of Ann Arbor from April 2020 to June 2020. Jack (John) has a strong background in natural resource management, including their time as a Wyss Scholar at Redwood National Park with the National Park Service from May 2018 to August 2018 and as a Trails Stewardship Intern with the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy from June 2016 to November 2016. Jack (John)'swork at Cornell University as a Cornell Orchards Intern involved research support and manual labor in apple storage experiments and vineyard maintenance from May 2014 to August 2014. Jack also has experience outside of the environmental field, having worked as a Supervisor - Barista at Libe Cafe from August 2012 to December 2013. Overall, their background demonstrates a passion for conservation, horticulture, and environmental stewardship.

Jack (John) Pritchard pursued their education in various institutions and fields of study. Jack (John) began their undergraduate studies at Cornell University in 2012, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture in 2016. In 2015, they also participated in a Study Abroad program at Lincoln University in New Zealand, focusing on Landscape Architecture.

Continuing their academic journey, from 2017 to 2020, Jack attended the University of Michigan. During this time, they simultaneously pursued two separate degrees. Jack (John) completed a Master of Science (MS) in Conservation Ecology, specializing in the field of Conservation Ecology. Additionally, they also earned a Master's degree in Landscape Architecture, focusing once again on the field of Landscape Architecture.

Throughout their educational history, Jack showcased a passion for the environment and design, with a particular emphasis on Landscape Architecture.
