Gary Cantwell obtained their Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Communications from Southern Methodist University in the years 1980 to 1984. Gary later pursued work towards a Master of Arts in Communications at both Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary from 1989 to 1990 and Fuller Theological Seminary from 1991 to 1992. Finally, they completed their education by earning a Master of Arts degree in Communication & Culture from Trinity International University, which they attended from 2010 to 2014.
