Joep Schaper is a seasoned professional in the field of political science and immigration research, currently serving as a Wetenschappelijk medewerker at the Sociaal en Cultureel Planbureau since March 2019. Schaper completed a PhD in Political Science and Government at the University of Amsterdam, focusing on the relationship between immigration reflections and anti-immigrant attitudes in Europe from 2002 to 2015. Prior experience includes Project Coordinator and Research Fellow for the IMPALA database project, which aimed to develop comparative data on immigration law and policy, and various roles at the University of Amsterdam, where Schaper taught methodology and conducted impactful research on educational gaps. Additional experience includes leading projects at De Nederlandse Nieuwsmonitor, contributing to the discourse on journalism through content analysis and report generation.
