Deputy Head Of Ornamental Gardens at The Newt in Somerset

Deanne Lewis is an experienced horticulturist currently serving as the Deputy Head of Ornamental Gardens at The Newt in Somerset since June 2023, previously holding the position of Lead Ornamental Gardener. With a robust background in garden management from July 2007 to June 2023 at the National Trust as a Senior Gardener, Deanne coordinated daily garden operations, managed a team of three staff members and approximately 60 volunteers, and contributed to the development of a project focusing on a contemporary garden design with historical influences. Earlier, Deanne worked as a Gardener at Montacute House and holds an HND in Horticulture with Plantsmanship from the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, a Craftsman Gardener Award from the National Trust for Scotland, and a BA in Landscape Architecture from Edinburgh College of Art.
