Temi Afolabi MBA has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Starting in 2010, Temi worked for FirstGroup plc as an Asset Engineer. Later, in 2012, they became a Project Manager before transitioning to the role of Work Stream Lead for the GTR Franchise Mobilisation. In 2013, they provided Technical Support for the TSGN Franchise Bid. Temi then joined Transport for London in 2016 as a Project Lead for the Camden Town Station Capacity Upgrade. In 2014, they began working for Young Rail Professionals as the London Ambassadors Manager. In the same year, they also joined Lendlease as a Key Account Manager and later became the Senior Project Manager for the Leicester Railway Museum project. Additionally, Temi worked as a Project Manager for the Buchanan Galleries redevelopment project. In 2017, they joined Hitachi Rail as a Program Manager for the Inter-City Express Programme. Temi then moved on to Crossrail Ltd in 2018, where they held the positions of Project Lead for Stations Integration & Commissioning and Lead for Field Engineering. Currently, Temi is serving as the Vice Chair for The Leigh UTC while also working as the Strategy and Operations Director at The Nichols Group.

Temi Afolabi holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Cranfield School of Management, which was earned between 2017 and 2019. Prior to that, in 2013 and 2014, Temi acquired a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Construction Management from Kingston University. Temi's educational journey began in 2006, when they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution, Kingston University. Currently, Temi is pursuing a degree in Business Sustainability Management with a focus on Sustainability Studies at the University of Cambridge, starting in 2022. Additionally, Temi has obtained certifications as an APM Member from the Association for Project Management in September 2020 and as a CIOB Member from The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).
