Megan Westgate

Megan Westgate is the Founder and CEO of the Non-GMO Project, a non-profit organization established in June 2006 that focuses on product verification and education related to non-GMO standards. Westgate has also contributed as a Founding Member of the Nutrient Density Alliance from March 2022 to March 2024 and served on the Board of the Community Food Co-op from April 2010 to April 2017, including roles such as Board Chair and Chair of Strategic Planning and Board Development Committees. Previous positions include membership and marketing at Food Conspiracy Cooperative (2004-2006), Manager on the Operations Team at Heartwood Mountain Sanctuary (2003-2004), Senior Host & Floor Manager at Greens Restaurant SF (2002-2003), and support roles at Omega Institute for Holistic Studies (2002). Westgate holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art with a minor in Dance from Scripps College, attended Haverford College for a year, and graduated from Northfield Mount Hermon in 1998.
