Jon Malone

Jon Malone has a strong background in the education field, with a focus on special education and autism. Jon began their career in 2000 as a Primary Autism Teacher at RPS 205, where they worked until 2004. During this time, they also briefly worked as an Autism Consultant and Technical Assistance Provider for the Illinois Autism/PDD Training and Technical Assistance Project. From 2004 to 2015, Jon held various roles at RPS 205, including Special Education Coordinator, Executive Director of Student Support, and Principal of Public Day School. In 2015, they transitioned to the Northwestern Illinois Association, where they currently work as the Chief Executive Officer.

Jon Malone began their education at Western Illinois University from 1995 to 2000, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education and Teaching. Jon then pursued further education at National Louis University from 2003 to 2005, obtaining a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General. In 2013 to 2014, they attended the University of St. Francis, where they completed Director of Special Education coursework. Jon also holds additional certifications from the Illinois State Board of Education, including a Director of Special Education Endorsement, General Administrative Endorsement, and Teacher (Special Education) certification.
