Raymond Chiu is the Director of Finance and Facilities Management. In this role, he directs the financial stewardship and facilities management for the University in collaboration with leaders from the schools and administrative offices. The Office’s efforts focus on implementing effective and customer-oriented processes in order to improve services for the university community.
Working with a dedicated and professional team of staff, the Finance and Facilities Management Office strives to be a strategic partner with the schools and offices across the University to ensure the University remains financially sustainable, and that financial and physical infrastructure resources and services align with the mission and strategic plans of the University.
Raymond brings more than 30 years of financial management experience in the business world. His progressive leadership roles over the course of his career have covered a wide range of responsibilities, including auditing, controllership, business analysis and reporting, treasury operations, strategic planning, investment evaluation, and financial planning and management.
Prior to joining the University, Raymond spent 3 years at ASSAABLOY Asia Pacific Limited as the APAC Financial Controller, 2 years at The China and Hong Kong Gas Company Limited as the Head of Finance, and 16 years at ExxonMobil Hong Kong Limited in various finance leadership roles, working in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Doha, and Virginia, USA. He began his professional career in auditing with PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
Raymond earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Chemistry from the University of Hong Kong, and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is a Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA), a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Certified Professional Forensic Accountant (CPFAcct), a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), a Fellow Corporate Treasurer (FCT), and a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP).
