Kelly Shindler

Director, Exhibitions & Public Interpretation at The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage

Kelly Shindler is an accomplished arts administrator with extensive experience in exhibition curation and public interpretation. Currently serving as the Director of Exhibitions & Public Interpretation at The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage since September 2016, Kelly leads a senior leadership team dedicated to fostering a vibrant cultural community in greater Philadelphia and manages a grantmaking area that allocates $6 million annually to arts and history organizations. Prior to this role, Kelly held positions at the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, where over 30 exhibitions were organized, and co-founded Package Deals, directing an international artist’s moving image series. Additional experience includes developing content for the PBS series Art:21 at Art21, complemented by a Master's degree in Art History and Arts Administration from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a Bachelor's degree in English Literature from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
