James Blagg

James Blagg has extensive work experience in the data and information management field. James is currently serving as the Head of Data at Principality Building Society since August 2019. Prior to this, they worked at Nationwide Building Society, where they held various senior roles, including Senior Enterprise Data Architect and Senior Business Intelligence Manager. During their tenure, they also served as the Senior Manager (Interim) for the Information Management Shared Service. Before joining Nationwide, James worked at Lloyds Banking Group, where they held the position of Business Intelligence Development Manager and Senior BI Developer, responsible for delivering data warehousing systems and leading teams. James also worked as the Manager of Business Risk Systems at Lloyds Banking Group. Prior to their time at Lloyds, James worked as a self-employed Data Management Consultant, specializing in database development. James Blagg has a diverse education history. In 1996, they enrolled at the University of Leicester and pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in American History & Politics, which they successfully completed in 1999. During the same period, in 1997-1998, they also studied US History & Postwar Foreign Policy at Colorado State University.

In 2001, James continued their educational journey by pursuing a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Information Technology at the University of the West of England. James'sstudies in this field lasted until 2002.

James's pursuit for knowledge did not stop there. In 2017, they enrolled at The Open Group to obtain the TOGAF 9 certification in Architecture. James successfully completed this certification, becoming "The Open Group Certified: TOGAF® 9 Certified" in August 2017.
