Ziyanah Ladak has a diverse work experience that spans various organizations and roles. In 2015, they worked as a Social Media Intern at PAVE: Promoting Awareness, Victim Empowerment, where they implemented and evaluated social media and marketing initiatives related to sexual violence.
In 2016, they worked as a Publications Intern at the Middle East Institute, where they completed country-specific chronologies, reviewed books, and assessed the quality of submitted work for publication.
From 2016 to 2018, they were a Research Intern and later a UVA Initiative on Religion, Politics, and Conflict Research Intern at the University of Virginia. During this time, they conducted independent research and supported the initiative's research activities.
In 2018, they interned at the Aga Khan Development Network as an Intern for the Central Scholarship Unit.
From 2018 to 2021, they worked as a Program Associate at Sayara International, where they supported an evaluation project, delivered recommendations to district governors in Afghanistan, and led analysis of ethnographic findings related to the peace process.
In 2019, they briefly worked as a Research Assistant at Bowdoin College's Department of Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies.
From February to September 2021, they worked as a Research Consultant, offering expert analytical and editorial services to various clients, including Bowdoin College and Sayara International, focusing on governance, CVE, peace processes, and gender in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Since May 2023, they have been working as a Project Manager at Q2 Impact.
Ziyanah Ladak pursued their Master of Science (MSc) in Evidence-Based Social Intervention and Policy Evaluation from the University of Oxford, completing it between 2021 and 2022. Prior to that, they attended the University of Virginia from 2014 to 2018, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) with High Distinction. During their undergraduate studies, they participated in the History Distinguished Majors Program and Women, Gender, & Sexuality, with a minor in Middle Eastern Studies. In 2017, Ziyanah Ladak engaged in a program offered by FIE: Foundation for International Education, where they explored Conflict and the Struggle for Peace in both Ireland and the Middle East.
