Anurag Syal

Anurag Syal is a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at The RealReal, where Anurag leads the DS-Authentication team, focusing on automating counterfeit prediction in luxury consignment items through AI. Previously, Anurag served as a Machine Learning Consultant at Whole Foods Market, advising on model training and production strategies to optimize grocery promotions while architecting an MLOps pipeline. Anurag also held roles as a Lead Machine Learning Engineer and Machine Learning Engineer at AEDIT, contributing significantly to ML pipeline automation and developing deep learning models for facial detection. Anurag's experience spans positions at Wayfair, USC Viterbi School of Engineering, Vulcan Inc., and UnitedLex, with a strong foundation in software engineering and project management stemming from the co-founding of Frulix. Anurag holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka.
