Michael McGowan

Michael McGowan is a seasoned professional in the field of transactional risk and mergers and acquisitions insurance, currently serving as a Partner at The RiskPoint Group since March 2023 and as Managing Director and Head of Transactional Risk for the Americas at RP Underwriting Inc. since January 2021. Previously, Michael held key positions including Head of Mergers & Acquisitions Insurance for North America at AXA XL, where leadership of the M&A Insurance Team was a focus, and Director at Chubb, specializing in transactional risk. Michael's experience also includes roles at Focus Financial Partners as Assistant General Counsel, managing legal M&A activities, and as a Corporate Associate at Vinson and Elkins, with expertise in private equity and capital markets. Michael holds a J.D. from Duke University School of Law and a BA, cum laude, from Boston College, along with a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
