Liesbet Steer

Liesbet Steer is a Senior Advisor at The Rockefeller Foundation, Systemiq Ltd., and a Chair of the ODI Global North America Board at ODI, where responsibilities include developing strategies to enhance ODI's global impact. Liesbet has extensive leadership experience, having served as President & CEO of EDC, where strategic organizational changes and partnerships were established to boost funding and global outreach. As Co-Founder and inaugural Board Member of the International Finance Facility for Education, Liesbet played a key role in designing its frameworks and governance. Previous positions include Executive Director of The Education Commission, where Liesbet led global initiatives on education financing, and Fellow at The Brookings Institution, creating significant educational finance programs. Liesbet's academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Development Economics from the University of East Anglia and advanced studies in Economics from The London School of Economics and Political Science.
