Director Of Visitor And Commercial Development at The Royal Air Force Museum

Barry Smith has extensive experience in the museum and library sectors. Barry most recently served as Director of Visitor and Commercial Development at The Royal Air Force Museum since January 2018. Prior to that, they were the Assistant Director, Commercial at the Imperial War Museum from April 2012 to January 2018. Barry also held various positions at The British Library, including Head of Commercial Services from February 2009 to April 2012, and Senior Marketing Manager from January 2006 to January 2009. Before joining The British Library, Barry worked at ProQuest as a Senior Marketing Manager and Strategic Marketing Manager from 2000 to 2005.

Barry Smith obtained their Chartered Institute of Marketing Diploma in Marketing from Hitchin College from 1993 to 1996. Prior to that, they studied business studies at Cambridge Regional College from 1989 to 1990. Their educational journey began at Cannock School, where they completed their schooling from 1984 to 1989.
