Chris P. has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Chris started their career in 2008 as a Craftsman at Dorothea Restorations, where they were involved in the production and restoration of historic architectural metalwork. Notable projects included working on bronze windows for the Houses of Parliament and maintaining entrance gates for the British Museum.
In 2010, Chris worked as a Senior Technician at IGOE PA for a brief period of five months.
From 2011 to 2012, Chris worked as a Scenic Engineer at the Royal Shakespeare Company, where they produced scenic elements for theatrical productions both in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and during international tours.
In 2012, Chris transitioned to the role of Draughtsperson at the Royal Shakespeare Company, a position they held until 2016. During this time, they were responsible for creating technical drawings for theatrical productions.
From 2016 to 2023, Chris worked as a Design Engineer at the Royal Shakespeare Company. Their responsibilities included scenic, mechanical, and structural design for theatre and events, as well as analyzing and approving safety critical items using finite element analysis.
In addition to their work with the Royal Shakespeare Company, Chris also pursued freelance work since 2006. Chris collaborated with various organizations and projects such as the V&A Museum, Banksy's Dismaland, and LabofII, on exhibition, arts, and non-profit ventures.
Chris P. has an extensive education history. Chris completed their Master of Science (MSc) in Engineering Design at Loughborough University from 2016 to 2022. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Engineering from The Open University, where they studied from 2012 to 2016. Chris P. also holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in 3D Design - Designer Maker, which they earned from the University of Plymouth from 2005 to 2008.
In addition to their formal education, Chris P. has obtained two certifications. Chris became an Incorporated Engineer (IEng MIMechE) through the Institute of Mechanical Engineers in September 2019. Chris also acquired the Solidworks Professional certification from Dassault Systèmes in December 2015.
