Cyril Zipfel

Cyril Zipfel is a distinguished researcher and academic leader in the field of plant biology, currently serving as Senior Group Leader at The Sainsbury Laboratory and Chair of Molecular and Cellular Plant Physiology at the University of Zurich since June 2018. Additionally, Cyril holds the position of Professor at the University of East Anglia since June 2014. Previously, Cyril worked as a Senior Group Leader and Group Leader at The Sainsbury Laboratory from April 2005 to June 2014, and as an EMBO Post-Doctoral Fellow. Early career development included a PhD at the Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research and the University of Basel from September 2001 to April 2005. Cyril's educational background encompasses advanced degrees in Plant Molecular Biology from Paris-Sud University and Université Henri Poincaré, and a foundational education in Biology from Université Louis Pasteur, complemented by a Baccalauréat from Lycée Bartholdi.
