Gary Faigin is a distinguished lecturer and facial expression researcher at the University of Washington College of Engineering since January 2010, where Gary collaborates with graduate students in the Animation Research Labs and is involved with the Facial Expression Research Group. As an author, Faigin's book, "The Artist's Complete Guide to Facial Expression," has become a seminal work in the CGI industry. In 1989, Faigin co-founded the Gage Academy of Art in Seattle, where Gary serves as Artistic Director and teaches various courses. Additionally, Faigin has maintained a fine arts studio since 1985, showcasing work across major cities and contributing to the Seattle Times as an arts writer. Previously, Faigin taught drawing at prominent art schools in New York City throughout the 1980s. Faigin's educational background includes studies at the Ecole nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts and the Art Students League.
