Paul Schmidt is an experienced creative producer with a diverse background in the media industry. Paul Schmidt  started their career as an associate producer at CTV / The Comedy Network in 1998 and later worked as a line producer at MuchMusic. In 2004, they joined Pyramid Productions as a senior producer and head writer.

From 2005 to 2010, Paul served as the manager of in-house productions at SUN TV, where they oversaw a team of 12-15 staff members and produced multiple series. During this time, they collaborated with sales and marketing to create integrated content opportunities for clients.

Paul then transitioned to a freelance career as a comedy writer, contributing to various nationally broadcast productions, including Citytv's New Year's Bash and the Much Music Video Awards. Paul Schmidt  also co-wrote and produced a short film that aired on The Comedy Network.

In 2010, Paul joined Rogers Broadcasting as the content manager at Citytv Calgary. In this role, they managed a team of 20+ staff members and successfully re-launched the local edition of Breakfast Television.

Paul's next role was as the supervising producer of Breakfast Television, Canada's leading local morning show. Paul Schmidt  led a team of 20+ direct reports and oversaw the show's editorial content. Under their leadership, Breakfast Television became Canada's number one morning show, surpassing its competitors.

In 2016, Paul became an instructor at The Second City Training Centre, where they developed and taught an intensive video production course.

Most recently, Paul served as the Vice President of Customer Success at Megaphone TV, a Participation Entertainment Studio that connects broadcasters with their audience through interactive features like polling, trivia, contests, and social media. Paul Schmidt  worked with well-known clients such as CNN International, AMC, MTV, and NBC.

Throughout their career, Paul has demonstrated strong leadership skills, creative prowess, and the ability to drive success in the media industry.

Paul Schmidt attended Ryerson University from 1994 to 1998, where they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Arts degree in Radio & Television Arts.
