Production Captain With Shubert Events at The Shubert Organization

Rey Hill has an extensive work experience in the performing arts industry. They started their career as an Event Stagehand/House Manager at Wellesley Public Schools in 2017, where they worked on stage productions for local groups. In 2019, they served as an Assistant Production Manager at the 1214 Foundation.

Rey then worked as a Freelance Production & Stage Manager, utilizing their skills in managing all aspects of theatrical productions. They organized and scheduled rehearsals, managed technical elements, and ensured smooth performances.

They later became an Assistant Technical Director at Theatre Row, where they worked at Building for the Arts NY, Inc. Rey supported the technical operations of the theater from July 2021 to June 2022.

Rey's experience also includes working at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts as a Production Coordinator starting in January 2023, and as a Production Captain with Shubert Events at The Shubert Organization from October 2022 onwards. In these roles, they provided support to clients, acted as a liaison between clients and venue management, and led a team of technicians and production assistants.

Rey has had various positions at the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene. They served as a Production Carpenter for the production of Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish, and as an Assistant Technical Director for the world premiere opera, The Garden of the Finzi-Continis. In these roles, Rey organized load-in, supervised installation of scenic elements, and covered technical tracks during performances.

Rey also worked as a Technical Director at Forestburgh Playhouse during the summer of 2022. They planned and executed scenic builds for multiple mainstage productions and provided support for events and concerts.

Lastly, Rey was a NYC GMC Chasing Rainbows (Production Manager/Show Caller) at Big Apple Performing Arts in May and June 2023.

Through their diverse experiences, Rey Hill has developed strong skills in managing and coordinating theater productions, technical operations, and client support.

Rey Hill attended Pace University from 2019 to 2022, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Stage Management. Additionally, Rey has obtained certifications in OSHA 30 Hour - General Industry from 360training in May 2022 and Adult CPR/AED from NY Metro CPR in October 2021. There is also mention of a certification in FDNY F-03 Indoor Place of Assembly Safety Certification from the New York City Fire Department, but the month and year of obtaining this certification are not specified.
