Matthew Billman has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the sports and media industry. Matthew is currently employed as the Head Hockey Coach for the Girls U16AA team at The St. James. Prior to this, they worked as a Video and Audio Producer at Heartcast Media.
In 2019, Matthew co-created the Chirpin' DMV brand, where they served as a Blogger, Podcast Host, and Producer. Matthew was responsible for managing the brand's website, social media accounts, and uploading podcasts on platforms such as iTunes, Soundcloud, and Spotify.
Matthew also has experience in coaching, having served as the Assistant Hockey Coach for the Boys Varsity Prep team at Bishop O'Connell High School from 2021 to 2023. Matthew previously coached the St. Mary's Ryken Knights in the Mid Atlantic Prep Hockey League and received the 2018 Washington Catholic Athletic Conference Coach of the Year Award.
Before venturing into coaching and media, Matthew held positions such as Assistant Operations Manager at Calvert Brewing Company and Public Relations Game Day Assistant at the Washington Redskins. Matthew also worked as a Public Relations Intern at the Ultimate Fighting Championship and served as a Broadcaster and Digital Media expert for West Virginia University's ACHA Division 1 Ice Hockey team.
Matthew's early experience includes working as a Student Assistant Sports Information Director at West Virginia University, where they conducted interviews, provided public relations coverage for varsity sports, and wrote feature articles and press releases for wvusports.
Matthew Billman completed their education at West Virginia University. Matthew obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with a major in Communications and a minor in Sports Communications, graduating in 2015. Matthew then pursued further studies and earned a Master's Degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from the same university, completing their education in 2017.
